Who is She?

Christy Ng, founder and CEO of Christy Ng shoes, an online e-commerce platform that sells custom-made and ready-to-wear women’s shoes. Since its inception, the Christy Ng brand continues to experience double digit growth in terms of sales and the team foresee sales volumes to grow exponentially with the launch of their new 3D Shoe design platform late 2014. Christy Ng currently features thousands of uniquely designed shoes which constantly wins the heart of its customers. 

How Did She Start Her Business?

Christy worked first started selling shoes and slippers she had procured from Hat Yai in flee markets to fund her university education. While working in a Swiss pharmaceutical company, she continued making shoe designs and eventually decided to share them with the world in 2010, as she uploaded eight of her shoe designs on social media, albeit with little expectations. To her surprise, orders started gushing in for her designs. 

Challenges She Faced?

She faced her biggest challenge during the beginning stages of her business, when there was limited funding. There were not a lot of banks that were willing to provide loans as her company was not even 3 years old, and had no track record. Most of the manufacturers were unwilling to support such a small startup as they presumed that it will fail. However, Christy was not shaken. She persevered until she achieved what she had wanted.
 
Future Plans?
“Our future is a unique one as our model is a hybrid of e-commerce and technology. We believe we have the best of both worlds. We aim to be the #1 go-to destination for women’s footwear in Southeast Asia given that we are able to cater for bespoke and ready-to-wear shoes.”
